INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS FROM “TESAM”

TESAM has been evaluated since 2015 by the research center named ‘Think Tank and Civil Societies Program’, which regularly prepares a report on the think tanks and non-governmental organizations in every year. TESAM has been ranked among top 100 in the fields of Defense and National Security, Foreign Policy and International Relations for the last 4 years.

Independence is the most important criteria for the think tanks considered in the report. Think tanks affiliated with a political party or an ethnic, national, religious community are not considered. Non-independent think tanks find their place in the list of related think tanks. According to a recent report evaluating the year 2019, there are total 8248 think tanks in the world, this number is only 48 in Turkey. TESAM is working to fulfil its duty at a time when scientific thinking is so much needed.

Since its establishment, TESAM has adopted the principle of working independently and impartially without being bound by any political party or ideology. TESAM has carried on studies or works to produce solutions to Turkey’s problems with its staff consisting of academics specialized in their field. TESAM has a professional staff who aims to contribute in their field to the Republic of Turkey. In addition, world views of the academicians and experts involved in these studies are not the main reference point for TESAM.

Today, TESAM is a think tank that has completed its institutionalization process. The staff of TESAM consists of the Secretariat, academics and experts, Editors and press and public relations units. TESAM’s strongest strength is its investments in young academics and its organically growing team. Today, TESAM employs 44 full-time personnels in total consisting of 18 directors (secretaries), 9 experts, 8 press and public relations personnels, 7 researchers, 2 lawyers.

TESAM has a high advisory committee that takes an active role in determining its activities and roadmap.

TESAM strives to produce social science independently with its wide staff. In this context, TESAM conducts studies in social sciences especially in the fields of law, economy, foreign policy, public administration, sociology, education and history.
